We are a local family-owned restaurant located one block from the center of the college town. We have several family members who work for the restaurant. Since 1976 La Residence has provided entertaining options to Triangle residents as well as visitors from across the state, the nation and the world. In January, 1976 we served our first meals where the current Fearrington Inn Restaurant is located and then moved into Chapel Hill to 220 West Rosemary in 1978. We are currently in our third home one block from the center of the college town . We have long endeavored to provide the highest quality service, ambiance and, of course, food. We have repeatedly won the Holiday Travel Award presented to fine dining restaurants throughout the world. We have received the prestigious DiRoNA (Distinguished Restaurants of North America) Award in the past and our wine list has been recognized with the Wine Spectator s Award of Excellence.

The restaurant is divided into several rooms, each one has wide doorways that can either be utilized to open or close off a particular seating area. The Midas Room is best suited for smaller (less than 25), private parties The Midas, Lounge, Fireplace and Porch combined are the best seated for parties up to ninety people. The Garden side will seat 50-60 guests, offers a more informal option and is convenient to the outdoor cafe. The entire restaurant can seat up to 120 for dinner inside; 150 people outside; and 300 people for a buffet reception using the entire restaurant. Weddings can be held on our garden patio. Special party seating rooms are assigned based on number in the party, time of booking, and type of party being scheduled. The entire restaurant can be booked for your event. Parking is available in the municipal lot across the street from the restaurant.

Individual reservations are available up to 30 days in advance. Party reservations are available up to 12 months in advance of the desired date. To reserve a table or to inquire about a private party, please call us at 919-967-2506, send us an e-mail, or fill out our reservation request form.
